Our 12 Year Old Single Malt

Hirundine is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky matured for 12 years in American Oak casks. Crafted in small batches, it balances traditional craftsmanship with a modern approach to storytelling and identity.

On the nose, you'll find soft vanilla, honeycomb, and orchard fruits. The palate is full-bodied and warming, with notes of malted barley, baked apple, and a gentle touch of spice. A long, satisfying finish leaves a whisper of oak and lingering sweetness.

Our Story

Our whisky is named after the Hirundine, the elegant bird of the swallow family.

Like the Hirundine, our whisky embodies a journey across continents and seasons. These birds semi-migrate between South Africa and the UK, braving dark, cold, and often challenging winters north of the Wall, in search of sun, warmth, and new opportunities.

Their wanderlust mirrors our own journey - a quest for excellence and discovery.

March 2024

Our Beginning

The journey started with a simple conversation over a coffee. Three weeks later, we had Hirundine 01 which sold out in minutes.
June 2024

The Follow Up

Following the success of Hirundine 01, we were keen to experiment for Hirundine 02 with a Peated Edition.
October 2024

The 12 Year Old

The first perpetual release launched on Halloween with our 12 Year old Single Malt. This lead to our first on trade listings across venues in Edinburgh such as Scotch in The Balmoral and Gleneagles Townhouse.
June 2025

The Legacy

The founders became Lions, so we wanted to mark the occasion with a bottle that would befit this legacy defining moment with our 15 Year Old Single Malt.
February 2026

The 38 Year Old - stepping into ultra rare

The launch of the 15 bottle Limited Edition 38 Year Old Single Malt was the first step into the world of ultra-rare, story-led whisky releases that will define the future direction of Hirundine.
